There are very few people left who do what Garo Demirjian does.

A Family Standard Since 1929
Garo grew up beside his father's bench. Not visiting it. Beside it. Watching hands that had spent decades learning to see what untrained eyes cannot, feeling the weight of metal that has been worked correctly versus metal that has not, understanding before he could fully articulate it that the difference between something made well and something made right is not a matter of tools or materials or even talent. It is a matter of standard. The standard his father carried from a historic European jewelry district where his precision earned him commissions from dignitaries and nobility households, not through advertising or reputation management, but because the work announced itself.
That standard passed from one set of hands to another. It does not transfer any other way.
Education and Gemological Expertise
Garo went on to earn his Graduate Gemologist degree from the GIA, the most rigorous gemological education available in this field. He learned to read a stone the way a physician reads a chart — not from a photograph, not from a certificate alone, but in his hand, under his loupe, in the light of the room, with the accumulated knowledge of someone who has seen thousands of stones and knows immediately what he is looking at and what it means for the person who will wear it.
He opened Demirjian Jewelry Design in Arizona over twenty-five years ago. At an address he has never left.
Industry Recognition · AGTA Spectrum Awards
Between 2002 and 2006 he received five consecutive AGTA Spectrum Awards, the jewelry industry's highest design honor. The judges are anonymous. The process cannot be influenced or lobbied or bought. There is no application that guarantees consideration. The jury sees the work and the work either stands or it does not. For five consecutive years, across five different juries, the industry's most qualified peers looked at the work and reached the same conclusion. In a family that has always let the work speak, those five verdicts said everything that needed to be said.
He was also commissioned by the CEO of Fender to create two solid gold Stratocasters. Not because Fender needed jewelry. Because when something needs to carry real weight, real craft, real meaning, and real permanence, the conversation eventually finds its way to someone who can actually deliver all four.
That is what a Master Craftsman is. Not a title claimed. A conclusion reached, by the people who know, over time, through the evidence of the work itself.
The Fourth Generation
Garo's son, Armen, is now beside his bench. The fourth generation at the same location, learning the same way his father learned, his grandfather before him, and his great-grandfather before that.
