Hand to Hand, Since the Beginning
First Generation
Hand Engraving
In the workshops of the old country, the Demirjian tradition began with hand engraving. The first generation became known for its intricate work and exceptional craftsmanship, establishing the standard that continues to guide the family today.
Second Generation
Joseph Demirjian
Joseph learned the trade in the workshops of the old country, surrounded by other artisans as he refined his craft at the bench. His precision and quiet discipline brought commissions from noble households abroad.
Third Generation
Garo Demirjian
Garo grew up beside his father’s bench, learning the craft through years of observation and hands-on experience. After the family brought its tradition to Michigan, he worked alongside his father before opening Demirjian Jewelry Design in Arizona. There, he built an atelier centered on custom jewelry. Garo later earned his Graduate Gemologist diploma from GIA and received five consecutive AGTA Spectrum Awards from 2002 through 2006.
The Next Generation
Armen Demirjian
Garo’s son, Armen, is now at the atelier, learning the craft just as his father and grandfather did: by watching, practicing, and upholding a standard that has endured for nearly a century. The family tradition is now in younger hands.
